Swiss International School (SISQ) is an IB Continuum World School, welcoming children aged 3 to 18 years into a truly multilingual environment.
In just five years, SISQ has grown rapidly, with over 900 students joining us this year. We take pride in being a diverse and inclusive school, embracing families from all nationalities.
As an IB World School, we follow the International Baccalaureate Curriculum, ensuring a high-quality, globally recognized education.
Secondary School Principal
Originally from Ireland, Dan is an experienced and passionate teacher of Chemistry and Physics who has worked in an IB Diploma school in Egypt for over 15 years. Dan held various leadership roles including Head of Senior School and Principal and was involved in numerous accreditation processes. He holds a BA in Chemistry (Trinity College Dublin) and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership (Leicester University).
Head of school
Riyad, an Arab-American educator with 27 years of experience, has led American, British, and IB schools. With a BSc from New York, a Master's from Australia, and 22+ years in IB programs, he specializes in school improvement and staff development.
Primary School Principal
Sonia is in her seventh year at SISQ and brings over two decades of teaching experience across China, Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Isle of Man. Before moving to Doha, she served as Deputy Head of Junior School and SENCO at an international boarding school in China. Originally from Ireland, Sonia holds multiple qualifications in education, special needs, and teaching and learning. She is joined at SISQ by her husband,who teaches in Secondary, and their three sons.
Swiss International School Qatar was founded in 2017 with a clear vision to provide a high-quality international education rooted in strong values, academic excellence, and a caring community.
The school laid the foundation for what would become a respected institution in the community.

In 2018, SISQ achieved authorisation for both the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), marking an important step in offering a fully aligned IB educational journey.
New classrooms and facilities were built to accommodate the growing number of students, marking the school's first major step toward development.

The school reached another major milestone in 2019 with authorisation for the IB Diploma Programme (DP), enabling SISQ to offer a complete IB continuum from Early Years through Grade 12.

In 2022, SISQ was accredited by the Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA), recognising the school’s commitment to national education standards and continuous improvement.

SISQ earned accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) in 2024, affirming the school’s high standards in international education, safeguarding, and global best practice.
