Our Transition Programme, SISQ Small Steps, Shining Start, is built on the belief that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful beginning. At SISQ, we place enormous importance on connection, getting to know each child and their family long before the first day of school. From the moment a place is offered, families are welcomed into our community through our Meet the Team playdate in June, followed by Meet the Teacher and Your Class Community the day before school begins, and finally a gentle soft start during the first week of school, where children come in to the classroom in a smaller group setting. This approach allows us to learn each child’s unique needs, pace, and personality. We know that some children take longer than others to settle, and we guide this by providing a calm, supportive, and nurturing start. Our goal is to ensure every child feels safe, seen, and ready to explore, laying the foundation for confidence, curiosity, independence, and a positive lifelong attitude to learning.
