Early Years
At SISQ, we believe learning should be an adventure, driven by exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences. In our Early Years Programme (PK1 and PK2), children learn through purposeful play based on the IB Primary Years curriculum, using both large indoor and outdoor environments.
We place great importance on building strong connections with each child. By nurturing security, confidence, and independence, we encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and self-discovery. Our teachers guide learning through thoughtful questions and play-based activities that develop problem-solving and early academic skills at each child’s own pace.
Early Years students benefit from a multilingual setting. English is the main language of instruction, and each PK1 and PK2 class is supported by a French-speaking learning assistant who teaches French naturally through play and immersion. Children also enjoy one hour of Arabic each week. This strong language foundation is further developed as they transition into the Primary Years Programme.
Across four IB units of inquiry, children develop a sense of belonging, creativity, and foundational skills for language and numeracy. Activities such as circle time, art, music, Physical Education, construction and cooking support their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
With smaller class sizes and individualised support, children are well prepared for a confident transition into the Primary Years Programme, building the essential skills they need from Kindergarten to Grade 5.
